PROJECT STATS:

• School population = 1,060 students

• Avg. Design Flow = 15,900 GPD

• 20,000 gal Septic & EQ Tanks

• 3,000 gal De-Nitrification Tank

• 12,000 gal Recirculation Tank

• 4-AX100 AdVantex Packed-Bed Textile Filters

• Chlorine Disinfection

• 250,00 gal Treated Effluent Storage Tank

• 6-Acre, Multi-Zone Surface-Drip Irrigation

• Construction Cost Opinion = $1.0 Million.

PROJECT HURDLES:

1. Challenge: 5 miles to nearest public sewer and site not suitable for conventional septic system.
   
   Solution: Advanced treatment with on-site drip-disposal in wooded, un-developable area of site.
    

2. Challenge: Owner needed an acceptable wastewater disposal solution to obtain State/OSF approval to proceed with school design & construction on tight schedule.
   
   Solution: Obtained quick approval of PER from DHEC to satisfy SC Office of School Facilities and meet schedule.

RESULTS:

The project was permitted for construction by DHEC in June 2006. Construction is scheduled to begin in September and be completed by December 2006.
